Have you ever heard of Lung Qi deficiency?
The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine says:
The lung is the essence of qi.
All qi belongs to the lung.
When the Qi is deficient, the lung is also deficient.
Lung Qi deficiency is a very common symptom in daily life. Many people have symptoms of Lung Qi deficiency.
So what are the specific symptoms of Lung Qi deficiency.

1.What is Lung Qi Deficiency
According to Chinese medicine, Qi deficiency in the body is caused by the congenital deficiency of the patient, which occurs during the embryonic period and lays the foundation for the later Lung Qi deficiency.
On the other hand, it is due to the loss of nourishment after birth, such as “prolonged lying down hurts the qi” and the decline of the body’s middle qi function, which can lead to the deficiency of lung qi in the human body.
Lung Qi deficiency can be caused by strain, prolonged cough, summer fever, or after a serious illness, or by the inability of the spleen to raise clear Qi in the lungs, resulting in a deficiency of lung Qi and a weakening of functional activities, resulting in Lung Qi deficiency. The symptoms include weakness, pallor, shortness of breath, weakness of the limbs, dizziness, sweating when moving, and a low voice.
2.Causes of Lung Qi deficiency
Part 1 – Decreased resistance
Lung Qi deficiency can be caused by strain and injury, prolonged cough, summer fever, or after a serious illness, or by Spleen deficiency that prevents the rise of clear Qi in the lungs, resulting in a deficiency of Lung Qi and weakened functional activity, resulting in Lung Qi deficiency.
Part 2 – Chronic Lung Diseases
Mostly caused by chronic coughing that depletes the lung qi, or weakness of the lung qi, or by deficiency of the spleen, which prevents the water and grain essence from rising to the lung. Most often seen in the later stages of the disease or chronic lung disorders, and is a deficiency symptom.
Part 3 Environmental factors
The physical or chemical environment causes the body’s system to fail to function properly, resulting in difficulty in breathing and reduced functional activity.
3.Manifestations of Lung Qi Deficiency
Lung Qi deficiency is a common lung disease, mainly manifested by cough, weakness, fear of wind and spontaneous sweating, etc. The following, are the common symptoms of Lung Qi deficiency.
How much qi is weak, panting, and shortness of breath with slight exertion?
The body’s ability to resist disease is low, easily infected with external evil, easy to catch a cold, more than the evidence of fear of cold, runny nose.
In the case of a cold, it is easy to have sinusitis.
Dry, wrinkled, and itchy skin is common, especially in autumn and winter when the climate is dry.
It can often lead to a deficiency of kidney yang, which makes the water run unfavorably and results in frequent urination and incomplete residual draining.
Insufficient lung qi, the lung’s defense function decreases, and the human body are easily attacked by external evil repeatedly, making it easy to catch a cold. Chronic lung diseases with “a deficiency of lung qi (poor lung function)” require attention to tonifying the lung and strengthening its function.
